Author Guidelines

Journal Policies

  • Manuscripts submitted to Dissertia Research Reviews (ISSN 3053-6669) must be original, unpublished work.
  • If your thesis or dissertation has been published previously, please ensure that the publisher’s policy permits submission to this journal.
  • All submissions must align with the journal’s Aims and Scope, focusing on multidisciplinary research across the arts, humanities, and social sciences, especially at the crossroads of comparative, interdisciplinary, and practice-oriented perspectives.
  • Research involving human participants, animals, or plants must have been conducted in accordance with recognized ethical standards and approved by the relevant institutional review board or ethics committee.
  • Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any published materials (e.g., figures, tables, extended quotations) for which they do not hold copyright.
  • Wherever possible, data supporting the findings of the research should be made openly available, unless restricted by legal, ethical, or confidentiality considerations.
  • Any AI-generated content used in the preparation of the manuscript must be acknowledged explicitly in the Methods section.
  • AI tools do not qualify for authorship and cannot be listed as co-authors.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript prior to submission. Since we recognize that in some institutions and countries the publication of theses and dissertations requires inclusion of supervisors’ and advisors’ names, it is the responsibility of the authors to verify such requirements and ensure compliance before submission.
  • All authors must be informed of and agree to the journal’s policies regarding ethics, conflicts of interest, data availability, and withdrawal conditions.
  • The corresponding author is responsible for addressing reviewer comments and managing all communications with the editorial office.

Manuscript Format

  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
  • The first page must contain: the title of the manuscript, an abstract (150–250 words), 4–6 keywords, the full names of all authors, institutional affiliations, and the corresponding author’s contact details.
  • Manuscripts must follow the referencing style specified in the journal’s Formatting Guide for Authors (Chicago Author-Date or Notes and Bibliography format).

Language and Abstracts

  • Submissions are accepted in all widely spoken academic languages.
  • An extended English abstract (300–500 words) is strongly recommended for all non-English submissions to enhance international visibility.

Author Identifiers

  • Authors are encouraged to include their ORCID iD during submission to ensure proper scholarly attribution.
  • Use of an institutional or previously published professional email address for submission is strongly recommended.

Licensing and Copyright

  • All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, allowing for sharing and adaptation with appropriate credit.
  • By submitting, authors grant Dissertia Research Reviews the right to publish and distribute the work in print and online.
  • Once published, articles may be withdrawn only in exceptional circumstances, such as proven plagiarism, serious ethical breaches, or legal violations.
  • Errors that do not affect the integrity of the research record should be addressed through published corrections or updated versions, not removal of the article.

File Format

  • Submit in Microsoft Word (.docx).
  • Use standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12 pt).
  • Line spacing: 1.5; margins: 2.5 cm (1 inch).

Structure of the Manuscript

  • Title Page: title, authors, affiliations, corresponding author’s email, abstract (150–250 words), 4–6 keywords.
  • Main Text: sections such as Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion.

Language and Style

  • Write clearly and concisely.
  • Submissions are accepted in all common academic languages.
  • Non-English manuscripts must include an extended English abstract (300–500 words).

Additional Notes

  • A data availability statement should be included if relevant.
  • If AI tools were used, acknowledge them in the Methods section.
  • Authors are responsible for checking institutional requirements regarding inclusion of supervisors/advisors.
